Here are the things that families with a Margie Munro Westie have to do:
- Love them
- Cuddle them
- Provide for them, or have an approved plan, which does that in case of their owners' incapacitation or death
- Keep them in a fenced yard and don't leave them out unsupervised. Invisible fences allowed only with sellers' approval.
- Have them micro-chipped
- Feed plain yogurt with 1 Culturelle capsule broken over the yogurt every morning until they are 6 months old
- Feed an approved food that does not contain corn, corn gluten or cornstarch, and preferably a food w/o wheat or soy
- No use of Swiffer products on the floors of your home (they result in allergies and skin rashes)
- Obedience train the dog for its own safety at least through puppy socialization classes and a beginning obedience class
- Our contract covers vaccinations and possible titer testing to ensure that a dog is not over vaccinated, resulting in immunity issues later in life. Also, it covers neutering: When it may be done and under what conditions.
- Be an active, informed pet owner, providing the best healthcare and daily care for your dog.
- If the dog is sold on a show prospect contract, I will be a co-owner until the dog finishes its AKC championship.
- No breeding of said dog without the co-owner's approval and co-owner (breeder) selects and approves any breeding partner(s).
- Generally, not leave the dog alone on a daily basis for 7 hours or more
Most important: Make that dog a part of your life and provide for it in every way possible. Yes, this is an extensive list. No family that has gotten a Margie Munro Westie has failed to live up to these expectations.
